 Join Ishmiel, the owner of Full Circle Drums, for this fun and informative workshop on how to have a better relationship with your drum. If your drum has a torn head, is just out of tune, or if you’d like to learn more about your drum, then this workshop is for you. On Saturday we will remove the skins from the broken drums and make any necessary repairs, including oiling, repairing cracks, and resurfacing the bearing edge. Then we will put on new skins, and allow them to dry overnight. On Sunday we will shave, tighten, and tune the new drum heads, learn the basic tones of the djembe and dumbek, and finish the workshop with a drum circle.
• Replace the torn or worn out skins on your djembe or dumbek drum
• Learn to tune your drum
• Learn basic rhythms and playing techniques
• Learn drum maintenance and care
• Have a good time!
When: Saturday/Sunday, Sept. 2nd/3rd, 10:00am to 6:00pm
(Those who need to replace the skin on their drum will need to attend both days.)
