The djembek is a cross between the African djembe and the Middle-Eastern doumbek. It is a completely tunable drum that is the same size as our large doumbek. Like our doumbeks, Full Circle djembeks are hand-made using stoneware clay which has been high-fired for durability and sound quality. Each is hand-carved and glazed, and no two djembeks are alike. The heads are goat skin from Pakistan, tied off in the original djembe style. We take care to make sure all Full Circle doumbeks are comfortable to play. All of our drums have a wide range of tones, from the deepest bass (dum) to the highest end (tek). Custom carvings or inscriptions are available; please e-mail or call for more details.
